Dear [Funder name],
I am writing to ask the [Foundation name] to consider sponsoring [Your organization]’s participation in The CIVIL Executive Series™, a cohort program that strengthens how organizations operate from the inside.
Civil Strategies is a systems design and advocacy communications firm that works where strategy meets structure, helping nonprofits and foundations align governance, operations, programs, and communications. The CIVIL Executive Series™ brings that same methodology, The CIVIL Framework™, into a structured cohort program for executive teams.
The Series runs as three twelve-week intensives over the course of the year, each addressing a distinct part of how an organization works:
Each intensive pairs a structured diagnostic with a two-day executive working session and follow-on implementation support, and leaves our team with a ninety-day plan we can put to work right away. The full series runs about thirty-six weeks, with cohorts forming in cities across the country.
The program is designed to be foundation-sponsored. A sponsoring funder underwrites the full cost of delivery, so participating organizations can focus on the work itself rather than the tuition. A funder can sponsor a single intensive or the full series for one organization, or support several grantees moving through together.
For [Your organization], this would help us [name one or two priorities, for example: clarify how decisions are made, align our programs with our resources, or steady our communications]. We expect the structure it builds to carry well beyond the program itself.
If you are open to it, the next step is a short conversation with Civil. You can review how sponsorship works at civil-strategies.com, and Civil’s Dennis Poplin can walk you through the details and answer questions directly at Dennis@Civil-Strategies.com. I would be glad to make the introduction.
Thank you for considering this request.
With appreciation,
